A Paris Elopement Not to be Missed | Bridal Beauty

It was just about this time last year that I was exchanging emails with Jaime about her makeup and hair style for her intimate elopement wedding in the heart of Paris. I was extremely excited to beautify her because I knew I'd be working alongside two very talented professionals - Claire of Claire Morris Photography, and Chris of ZEN Film Works. It's always a pleasure to know that I am surrounded by trustworthy colleagues when creating such beautiful and lasting memories of those special moments my clients will cherish for the rest of their lives.

I had never met Jaime prior to our appointment, but I knew we were on the same page when she shared her inspiration images with me - she wanted brushed-through soft waves and silver-violet smokey eyes - such a beautiful combination to go with her silver dress! Plus, she had ordered some beautiful sparkly hair pins to incorporate into the hair style, and they complemented her dress perfectly!

A Love Story ... "We knew each other growing up in the same small town. We first met when I was 7 and Jaime was 5. We went to the same elementary, middle, high school, and college, but never spoke to each other until Jaime’s freshman year of college. We exchanged phone numbers at a New Year’s party, and ran into each other several times over the next three years. In January 2011, our last semester of college, I texted Jaime and asked her to come to a party at my place on a Friday night. She didn’t respond until the next morning, and said she was sorry that she didn’t get my message in time but that she would be available that night, on Saturday. Throughout pretty much all of college I had a crush on Jaime, so I told her that I was having another party on Saturday. There was not a party planned for Saturday, but when Jaime said she would come, I made one happen. After the party, we ended up talking to each other until the sun came up on Sunday morning. We made plans to meet up again the next week, but I got a really bad case of the flu, so we had to delay the date. The date was delayed 2-3 more times for reasons outside of our control, and finally landed on a Tuesday night. That Tuesday, a huge ice storm hit our college town. Basically everything shut down, and driving on the roads was not recommended. I did not want the date to get pushed back yet again, so I drove across the ice to Jaime’s place. We had plans to get dinner, but the only restaurant open was a carryout pizza place. So, we got the pizza, watched a couple movies, and finally had our date. We officially became boyfriend and girlfriend on March 14, 2011. Since then, we’ve completed graduate school, moved across the country, started new careers, and adopted a second dog." The elopement day could not have gone better, and, thanks to Jaime's makeup and hair vision, and her full trust in my style, I was able to create the perfect look for her. THE BEST PART? You can see the groom's reaction when he saw her for the first time (yes, they stayed in separate rooms the night before their elopement!) in the amazing video above that Chris masterfully created. When I first watched this video, I teared up and fought back happy tears because it is such a beautiful reminder of how important and wonderful love is for all humanity. Just look at them happily celebrating this moment in time that marks their connection - there are few things that make me happier than this feeling and I am so grateful I was able to be there for Jaime on this monumental day in her life!
